Web Hosting

Eligibility

Enterprise Web Hosting Services are eligible to Johns Hopkins Faculty, Staff, and Students with proof of affiliation and an explanation of the project clearly stating its relationship with Johns Hopkins. The Enterprise Web Hosting resources are not intended for personal Web solutions. If disk space requirements exceed the standard allotment, payment may be required on a case by case basis.

Getting Started

Begin your request by submitting a DNS approval form for the DNS that you intend to use for the Website. Once approved you can begin your web request.

If you are unsure whether a container or server best meets your needs, simply submit your form and the Web hosting team will work with you to determine what option is right for you.

Once the website or server has been approved and provisioned it is ready for you to begin development.

Once you have completed the development of your website or sever and you are ready for it to become externally accessible the next step is the security Scan. For more information on the security scan process as well as tips to improve your security practices please visit https://cws.jh.edu/how-to-connect-to-your-site/passing-your-security-scan/

The purpose of this is to identify any vulnerabilities, which will be then patched. It is then placed behind an Nginx reverse caching proxy.
